Sometimes you want to run a store-wide sale but keep your "New Arrivals" or "Premium Brands" at full price. DiscountEasy gives you powerful exclusion tools to ensure your discounts only apply where you want them.
1. Why use Exclusions?
Exclusions allow you to set "rules" that override your discount settings. This is perfect for:
Protecting high-margin items.
Preventing double-discounting on products already on sale.
Excluding specific brands or fragile items from a free shipping offer.
2. Exclusion Types
In the Exclude section of your campaign setup, you will see two main options:
Exclude products that are on different sale: If this is checked, the app will skip any product that already has a manual Shopify discount or is part of another active DiscountEasy campaign. This prevents "discount stacking" (e.g., 20% + 10% off).
Exclude specific: This allows you to manually pick which items to leave out. You can exclude by:
Specific Products: Select individual items from your catalog.
Specific Collections: Keep entire categories at full price.
3. How to set up an Exclusion
Scroll to the Exclude block at the bottom of the campaign creator.
Check the box for the type of exclusion you need.
If choosing "Exclude specific", a search bar will appear.
Type the name of the product or collection and select it.
Click Save to apply the rules.
4. Viewing Exclusions in Action
Once saved, the app will automatically filter your products.
Example: If you set a discount for "All Products" but exclude the "Luxury Watches" collection, customers browsing watches will see the original price, while everything else in the store shows the discounted price.
5. Managing Conflicts
If a product is accidentally included in two different campaigns, the exclusion rules act as a safety net. We recommend always checking the "Exclude products that are on different sale" box to keep your pricing simple and clear for customers.
Pro Tip: Create a hidden Shopify collection called "Non-Discountable" for all your premium items. You can then quickly exclude this entire collection from every new campaign you create!
